Host Hotel Information:Downtown Marriott Hotel Online reservations can be made by visiting the Marriott's reservation link. A block of rooms has been reserved specifically for AAPA at a special discounted rate of $199 plus tax (approximately 15%). Located within the heart of Indianapolis, the Downtown Marriott is within walking distance of many major attractions. Hotel amenities include indoor swimming pool, whirlpool, complimentary fitness center access to all attendees, and available high speed internet. Use the Plug In Panel to connect laptops, MP3 players, digital cameras, and more to 37" flat screen TVs. Continuing Education Credits:The AAPA is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS PACETM Program. To be eligible to receive continuing education credit, you must have passed the ASCP BOC exam prior to this conference AND you must have your name badge scanned upon entering EACH lecture/workshop. You must be scanned within the first 10 minutes of the start of the lecture to receive credit. The maximum number of CME credits available at our 2010 conference is 29, including one safety lecture (a minimum of one credit is needed in safety every three years to comply with the ASCP BOC recertification requirements).

Registration Changes:An additional $35 fee will apply to ALL adjustments made to your conference registration after it has been received. This applies to daily registration changes and optional activity cancellations/transfers. As space permits, you may add workshops/events to your registration at no additional charge.

Cancellation Policy:Written notice to cancel must have been received via fax, mail, or email by August 31, 2010, to receive an 80% refund. No refunds will be given after August 31. If the AAPA cannot hold the conference due to acts of God, war, government regulations, disaster, strikes, civil disorder, or curtailment of transportation or other emergencies making it inadvisable, illegal, or impossible to provide the facilities or to hold the meeting, each prepaid registrant will receive a copy of conference handouts and any other materials that would have been distributed. Fixed conference expenses will be paid from the pre-registration funds. Remaining funds will be refunded to pre-registrants. AAPA is not responsible for any other costs incurred by pre-registrants in connection with the conference.

Poster Presentations:If you'd like to present a poster at our 2010 conference, please contact either Louis Litsas or Jennifer Davidson, Poster Display Subcommittee Chairs. The abstract submission deadline is August 15. Poster presentations do qualify for CMPs. Some changes for this year include a standard poster size (3 x 4 feet) and the number of presenters will be limited to ten. Posters will be accepted based on the following criteria: content, professional presentation of the abstract, and originality and timeliness of your submission. Those participating in the Conference Student Program will not be eligible for honoraria since they will be receiving other benefits. For more information, please visit the Poster Rules page.

Conference Attire & Weather:All activities are business casual (no shorts, t-shirts, or jeans). Evening attire is dressy casual (again no shorts, t-shirts, or jeans). Expect daytime temperatures in the 70s and evening temperatures in the 50s.

Shuttle Service & Hotel Parking:The airport is approximately 15 miles from the hotel. The hotel does not provide shuttle service; however, the Airport/Downtown Express Green Line operates every 20 minutes daily from 5 a.m. - 9 p.m. The fee is $7 one way. The shuttle takes you directly from the airport to the downtown hotels, including the Downtown Marriott. The hotel's parking fee is $15 per hour or $28 per day. The valet parking fee is $32 per day.
